Corset: Vintage, Skirt: Topshop. T-shirt: Express, Shoes: Aldo, All jewelry: F21

When some people buy new clothes, they save them for a special ocassion. I am not one of these people.I bought this corset yesterday and naturally, when I got home and had to get ready to go to a family dinner event I immmediately put on the corset I bought that day. There was no hesitating on what I would wear.

Yesterday morning I hit up a few antique stores as well as some vintage ones...and I got lucky....real lucky!
I found this amazing corset for $15. FIFETEEN.
It was originally a little higher but I only had $15 in cash on me and with no debit machine...she just accepted what I had. Although the pictures show how cute it is, they don't demonstrate how well constructed it is. There is not one sequin missing...the material is thick but not too heavy and the wires inside are enough to give some shape..but not suffocate.
I know I will be wearing this non-stop.

Doesn't the sequin pattern on it resemble little sea lions or some sort of sea creature?

Sticky & Sweet.

I went to get a pedicure before my trip to Italy and the woman who did my nails refused to paint them. That's right people...refused! (I had won a free gift certificate so I went to this place because of that)

Her rant included the following:
"Your nails are really damaged for your age"
"I really suggest eating vegetables"
"Do you know how many cancer causing chemicals nail polish has?"
"WOW they are so brittle. Do you not drink milk either?"
"I can put tea tree oil on them...but not polish"
"If you dont want to listen to me I can get another one of our Estheticians that use all the OPI crap"

I understand her wanting to inform me of the current state of my nails...maybe give me a few tips on how to improve them...but to refuse to do the color and assume I dont have a proper diet. I eat a fair amount of vegetables thank you very much bitch!

Anyways, I was so irritated that I just wanted to get out of there. I did go easy on teh nailpolish usage for a bit and did buy tea tree oil ( not from there obviously) but I thought I would dedicate this picture to the lovely girl who told me to never wear nailpolish again!

In more exciting nailpolish news: HARD CANDY NAILPOLISH EXCLUSIVELY FOR WALMART.
First Miley and Max team up for Walmart...now Hard Candy? Do we have a new Target on our hands?
Probably Not..but for a girl who lives in a city with no Target (i know--life is hard)...I'll take it!

Rumor mill and date night look really nice.

It will be available in September!

You've got to dance little liar

The only thing that I have been enjoying about this bi-polar summer weather we have been getting in Canada is that I can wear blazers and jackets.

I got this leather jacket about 4 years ago and I still wear it steady. I love that.

The necklace is by "Maya Brenner". I got it when I worked at TV and it's been a long love affair ever since. I wear it quite frequently..so much that I have to take it off every few weeks bc my hair gets twisted around the chain. Ok lol...too much info.

Use this as a necklace or as a bracelt. Bought the string from Michael's and a bunch of charms from there as well. This one reads "Follow your heart".

Went to the Britney Spears concert a few days ago. If I haven't told you already...I am a huge fan. I've been with Brit since her 'Opps I did it again' days...to her headshaving/pink wig wearing days...and now I am still with her during the comeback. Yeah...i'm loyal.

I thought this was a good outfit for the concert. I've been loving lace lately...and if anyone understands lace...it's Britney.

I'll post some pictures when I get them from my friend!
Also...Anna Wintour on Letterman tonight. Can't wait to see what the devil has to say

There is a god.

Everytime I get back from a vacation I have post-vacation blues. I dwell on the good times, the inside jokes, the pictures, the songs that we sung on the trip...the list can go on and on.

In typical marisa form...I must have looked at my vegas pictures 10 times over and was sad that I was home and it was over. However, yesterday night..my spirits were lifted.

I got word that the Sam Edelman harness boots were available on Shop Nastygirl. Um..WHAT!? After losing an Ebay bidding war on them...I had given up hope. When I got word they were availble on there....I couldn't help but click "Add to cart" without thinking twice.

I have been drained since Vegas. You seriously need a vacation from a vegas vacation because it really is the complete opposite of relaxing. Worth it though....although these pics show how tired I truly am. And so does this post

Will do a better one this weekend!

Bright light city... gonna set my soul

Oh Vegas....what a city you are!
I can't put into words how fun Vegas was. Why is New York called the city that doesn't sleep when Las Vegas doesn't even nap!?

10 things that went on:
1. Faked a Bachlorette party. Had date/honeymoon details, did fake speeches and a blast doing it! haha.
2. Partied with Demi Moore/Ashton/Bruce Willis/Audrina from the Hills (although she did not enjoy our company hahaha)
3. Took a hummer limo for $5 each everyday. Really broke the bank on that one
4. Won $50 on the slots on my third pull. YAY! Also lost on blackjack and was nicknamed "charity case" as some guys at our table kept giving us their chips to play with lol
5. Put my feet in severe pain while wearing my new Aldo shoes. Took off shoes in lobby. Twice.
6. Became addicted to strawberry mojitos. Delicious is an understatement
7. Tried Hazelnut latte from Coffee Bean and had one every morning
8. Did not end up on the roof like the Hangover
9. Asked paparazzi waiting for Demi/Ashton etc to take our picture LOL. They gave us a dirty look and turned their heads.
10. Slept a total of 3 hours each night.

Ya...I know lol. We busted out the robot move on more than one ocassion but hey...can't say everybody didn't love it. Even our new friend we met on the right

Sidenote: one of the girls on the trip had a few too many drinks and took my camera and accidently broke it so I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked (espeically of the decor in the hotels-stunning!) Once I gather the pictures from my friends maybe I will post some more!

Whenever I wear this piece, I feel like I am wearing a backpack...and since I am crushing hard on backpacks at the moment...I really enjoy wearing it.
This is a piece from Speech's latest collection and since I am...you know, related to the designer and all..I got a body piece to experiment with before it's released.
I can't say much but I will tell you that I think the upcoming shoot for this collection is going to be one of the best.
Stay tuned!

Heading to VEGAS tomorrow. Will probabaly be Champagne blogging at some point on the trip. Uh oh...

I don't think you can see this bracelet under the variety of bangles so I thought I should show an upclose shot. My friend Laura gave it to me. She works at a nursing home and one of the patients let her rumage through their old jewelry. OMG goldmine! She says it happens quite often....

Things look calm and normal in these pics, no? Well that's because they were....however, my life on this Monday was anything BUT calm and normal.

Here is my story:
It begins with my enemy....my dark natural roots. Somebody who was going blind would be able to point out these babies. Normally I would wear a few headbands and deal with it until my appointment but a last minute trip has come up which I leave for on Thursday and well, I just couldn't imagine me on a trip with my number 1 enemy.

Unable to get a hair appointment, I pulled the most idiotic move I've ever known (well maybe not but i'm tramatized and allowed to be dramatic). I bought a box of hair dye from Shopper's and decided to give myself home-made highlights. Yeah...I know. What am I..12?

The Results? Rainbrow Brite meets a yellow/orange/blonde tie-dye shirt.
It has been a long 48 hours but thankfully, my mom's hairdresser is fixing it tomorrow morning as a favour. THERE IS A GOD!

Outfit in happier times:
Jeans: Miss Sixty
Shirt: Forever 21 (recent purchase which i am sooo happy about. it feels *somewhat* like a James Perse)
Shoes: Michael Kors
Belt: gift from my mom when she went to Italy
