I went to a hat party on Saturday and before I finally decided on this black conducter style one, I changed my mind 3 times. When it comes to costumes...even if it's just a hat, I get a little out of hand with ideas.
At first, I was going to sport an indian inspired one, then it was a teeny tiny doll sized hat...but when I went into my favourite second hand store, Out of the Past, and saw this one.. I knew it was the one. Perfect combination of sequins, pleather and height.
Downside? I had already purchased feathers to make the Indian hat which would have been a total waste for $15.00. Never one to waste, I added them to an old purse instead. Clearly that's as far as my DIU's go.....Glue + Objects + More glue.
But overall, I was happy with the hat, the purse....and the party.

I've always been jealous of those people that find amazing shoes at second hand stores. Was I looking in the wrong places? Because ever time I tried to score a pair of shoes while thrifting...it hasn't worked in my favour.
My luck changed a few weeks ago when I finally found a pair that a: fit and b: I liked.
Never one to be drawn to flats...I couldn't resist these camel colored loafers.
Bonus points: They are real leather, they have wooden soles and they were 6.99.

When in doubt, Forever 21 it out. That is my motto. I got these pants a few weeks ago for just under $25 from the new Forever 21 they opened in Burlington, Ontario. Just a few years ago, us Canadians had to make trips to the states just to shop at Forever 21. Complete torture when you need a last minute outfit and your only options are Guess and Le Chateau. So glad they decided to come North.
I got the shawl a few years ago and it has been one of those pieces that I wear more than I ever thought I would. I find myself petting my shoulders when I wear this. And yes...I do get weird looks when I do. It's just so cozy.
Went out for dinner with a good friend I haven't seen in a while. I love long catch ups over wine and food...and I love good friends that you don't need to see all the time to know your still good friends.

They came.
It was an excruciating wait...and one I would not like to experience again, but so far...it has been worth it. I hesitated putting them on for a few days because I knew as soon as I did...they wouldn't come off my feet for days on end. I guess I know myself quite well as the last week has been made up of me automatically veering towards them after I get dressed every morning.
The real clitcher is that they are comfy as comfy comes. I feel like I could river dance in them for 3 days without a break and my feet wouldn't flinch. You know you've found something special when...
Oh for those of you who have NO idea what I am talking about...and are on the verge of thinking i'm crazy....

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. If I could dress up once a week...I would be the most content person in the world.
This year we went as'PARTY ANIMALS'....and I choose to be the leopard party animal. I found an old dance costume from back in the day and re-vamped it (added leopard print and fur and also tried to stretch the hell out of it). We also each wore party hats, sunglasses, and boas.
The night went something like this....
Made a peacock feather skirt from scratch for friend's costume (mission). Pizza dinner. Jay Z Concert. Hotel Pre-drink. Freaking out about how amazing Jay Z was. Put Sam Edelman's on for the first time. Friend's birthday. Jay Z showing up at friend's birthday( !!!) After the party it's the after party.
